Dr. Stewart is an Associate Professor in Maritime Studies. He earned a BA in Archaeology from Baylor University and an MA and PhD from the Nautical Archaeology Program at Texas A&M University. Research interests include ship reconstruction and maritime culture, with a current focus on the ancient Mediterranean. Dr. Stewart teaches History and Theory of Nautical Archaeology, Ship Reconstruction, Maritime Cultural Landscapes, European Maritime History and Archaeology, Watercraft Recording, and field schools.
